bringing the community together
Monday - Friday: 9am - 5pm
Saturday: 9am - 1pm
Sundays and Bank Holidays: 9am - 11am
Here in Rattlesden we have a brilliant community shop providing an excellent range of good quality products at the best prices and open seven days a week.
We stock a full range of everyday groceries including locally produced jams, mayonnaise, pickles, chutneys, flour, cakes etc. Our bacon, sausages and ham from the local butcher are excellent quality and very competitively priced. We have a selection of fresh bread, cakes and confectionery and, on Sundays only, croissants and pain au chocolat and other goodies. A good selection of plants from a local nursery in the summer, kindling in the winter and much more. We also support our village growers who supply us regularly with their surplus vegetables and fruit in season.
We also have newspapers daily (including Sundays). You can order yours or just turn up and hope to pick up your favourite. You can also order any magazines you want.
We specialise in supporting our local Suffolk producers bringing you top quality fresh produce all year round. In the summer we have superb locally-grown strawberries delivered twice a week. And why not try some of our baked goods from Palmers and Hollybush Farm for those picnics (weather permitting) or try our wide range of cakes and pastries. If you are a "Great British Baker" we have everything you will need including organic flour and fresh eggs at very competitive prices. We stock Hill Farm oils and mayonnaise made from the finest rapeseed oil, proven to be even healthier than olive oil: forget the Mediterranean Diet, try the Rattlesden diet instead!
Let us know if there is anything you would like us to stock in particular - we welcome feedback from our customers. We also need new volunteers to help in the shop; just 2 hours a week is all that is required, or if you cannot commit to a regular shift please add your name to our substitute list to fill in when regulars are away. Full training is given.
Come in and see for yourself - we look forward to seeing you, and do look at our Facebook page for up to date information about new products and offers.
