Cemetery Green Kerbing

The grass areas in Birds Green and outside the Cemetery are important pieces of common land. The Parish Council has been seeking quotations for kerbing for both with the aim of ensuring that they are afforded some reasonable protection from vehicle encroachment which has hitherto resulted in erosion and damage. In the last month or so you may have spotted contractors examining these areas, measuring the perimeters and generally reviewing what might need to be done. Whether or not the Parish Council has sufficient funding for the jobs remains to be seen but more problematic, immediately, is gaining permission for the tasks from Suffolk Highways (County Council) which, currently, is neither willing to do the work itself nor to authorise the Parish Council to do so!
